As an esthetician, my morning skincare routine is all about hydration, protection, and giving my skin that natural, healthy glow — without looking greasy. Today, I'm sharing my step-by-step AM skincare ritual along with the products I genuinely love and why I use them. If you’re trying to build a routine or just curious what skincare really means, keep reading!
What Is Skincare and Why It Matters

Skincare is the practice of taking care of your skin to keep it clean, hydrated, protected, and balanced. It’s essential not just for beauty, but for your overall skin health. A good skincare routine can:
Prevent breakouts, dryness, and early signs of aging
Support your skin’s natural barrier
Help treat specific concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, or redness
Give your skin a radiant, even glow
At its core, a skincare routine includes cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection. For better results, you can layer in toners, serums, eye creams, or treatments based on your skin’s needs.
Step by Step AM Skincare Routine
1. Cleanser: La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Cleanser
This is where my day starts. It’s a super gentle cleanser that doesn’t strip my skin but still removes any oil or residue from the night before. It’s great for sensitive skin and also hydrates while cleansing — perfect for prepping my skin for other products.
2. Essence Toner: Pyunkang Yul Deep Hydration Essence Toner
After cleansing, I apply this essence-toner hybrid. It’s super lightweight but packs a punch when it comes to hydration. It preps my skin for better absorption of serums and helps balance my skin’s pH, which is key for healthy skin.
3. Serum: Paula’s Choice C15 Booster Serum
Vitamin C is non-negotiable in my routine. This serum boosts collagen production, helps even out my skin tone, and protects against environmental stressors. I’ve noticed such a difference in brightness and skin texture since using it regularly.
4. Eye Cream: Sunday Riley Auto Correct Depuffing and Brightening Eye Contour Cream
This eye cream is magic. Within 15 minutes, I can literally see my dark circles and puffiness reduced. It brightens and smooths the under-eye area, which is a game changer if you’re like me and don’t get enough sleep!
5. Moisturizer: The INKEY List Bio-Active Ceramide Repairing and Plumping Moisturizer
This is my go-to moisturizer for fall and winter. It’s rich in ceramides, which help strengthen the skin barrier and keep hydration locked in. It's rich enough to protect my skin from the cold but still lightweight enough for daytime wear.
6. Sunscreen: La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light Face SPF Fluid
Sunscreen is the most important step of all. This one gives me that perfect glowy finish without feeling greasy. It protects my skin from UV damage and premature aging while keeping my makeup looking fresh all day.
Final Thoughts
Having a consistent skincare routine can transform your skin, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. Focus on ingredients that nourish and protect your skin, and tailor your routine to how your skin feels that day. Whether you're a skincare newbie or a seasoned pro, it all starts with taking the time to care for your skin. Because glowing skin is always in!
